Do you always have to be right?

21 Aug

We all know someone like this.  No matter if they’re wrong, they will never apologize.

I used to be a bit like this, mostly because admitting fault felt like defeat.

But it’s not!  It takes a strong person to admit that they are wrong.

What happens in relationships when people always have to be “right?”  Oftentimes divorce, because only one partner’s feelings are ever taken into account.  Or broken friendships – no one wants to be a friend to someone who is “self-righteous.”

The word tells us, “How can you say to your brother, ‘…Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye,” (Matthew 7:26.)

It’s OK to say you’re sorry.  It doesn’t make you weak.  It means you’re strong! 🙂

Be blessed!

The book is due out in the Fall of 2012. :)

What a fantastic post. It stinks when the person that you know that is like this is a family member and so you can’t rid of them. lol However, the relationship does end up being very strained and unhappy and one sided. I made sure to share this on all my social networking sites so the appropriate people can read it. 😉 lol haha Thank you so much for this post though!!

I would love to hear what's on your heart! Please play nice, as comments which are negative or abuse in nature will be removed. This is a place to uplift and encourage, so join in if you'd like! :). Blessings!
