I was almost kidnapped and hit by a car

4 Feb

Usually my blogs are very happy in nature, so I really didn’t want to write this one, honestly!lol…  I promise that it has a happy ending – (I’m obviously here, so the kidnappers didn’t succeed!) 🙂

It all started at the local grocery store.  It is in a very safe part of town, so I didn’t think twice about going late at night – I’ve gone before at night, and it’s usually older folks and teens there.  As soon as I walked in, God showed me that I was being followed.  It wasn’t just one man – it was two.  They weren’t buying anything nor did they have shopping carts; they were simply showing up on every aisle where I was.  Soon, there was a whole ring of men walking around suspiciously, going in and out of the store, and talking to each other on cell phones from the parking lot.

I knew that I would need to be escorted to my car, so I wasn’t surprised when two more men showed up behind me in the checkout line to buy skittles, (obviously just making it seem like they were buying something small and quick so that they could follow me.)

I almost wanted to laugh, but at the same time I was angry.  These men had no idea that they were messing with a child of God, and that God had revealed to me their plan from the very beginning.

Instead of leaving right away, I stayed in the grocery store and waited about ten minutes, then I was escorted to my car.  Sure enough, the men were there waiting in their cars throughout the parking lot.  When they saw that I was being escorted out, they all drove away, yelling on their cell phones, obviously angry that their plans had failed.

Yes, I made sure that they didn’t follow me.  Yes, I drove around a bit to make sure that no one was behind me.  Yes, I am very alert when it comes to my safety, so please don’t be worried about me!  Most of the time, I am so aware of my surroundings and what other people are doing that friends say I should have worked for the CIA!!lol…

Anyway, here is the moral of the story –  When we walk closely with God, we can sense the plans of the devil before they even start.  We’ll have a feeling that something isn’t right.  Yes, even as God’s children, the devil will still try and mess with us, but with God, we have power and authority over the devil, and we can sense his schemes coming a mile away.

It wasn’t that I was in an unsafe part of town – I was in the safest part in my area.  It was simply a scheme of the devil to take me out so that I could no longer do the work of the Lord.

So friends, stay close to God…close enough that you can hear His voice clearly at all times.   Sometimes it’s just a feeling; other times I’ve actually had a sense that something bad was going to happen, and I knew to be extra cautious.

Praise God that He protected me and kept me out of harm’s way.  A few days after that, I was almost hit by a car, but I believe that God caused His angel’s to stop the persons foot on the pedal who was purposely trying to hit me.  I’ll tell that story in a few days.

This is not to say that bad things never happen to God’s children, but I truly believe that many bad situations can be avoided if we simply learn to hear God’s voice.

This particular story may be solemn in nature, but it is also a story about why we can have joy – when we have God in our lives, we can walk in security, peace and wisdom!  🙂

So today, open up that Bible, pray, and get alone with God.  In this day in age, it is sooo necessary! 🙂
