Dana Che – God says that I’m Beautiful

26 Mar

For the next two weeks, we are doing a series on what God says about beauty to lead up to our March Beauty Bash, Fashion Show and Lunch to benefit the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Today’s interview will feature Dana Che, an Author, Speaker, Blogger, and Mother, (just to name a few.)  🙂  I know that you will enjoy hearing from her!

What does beauty mean to you?

When I think of beauty, I think of the fullness of what God created us to be. Inward and outward, we were created to be beautiful and to bring a smile to His face, dazzling His creation with our presence.

What inner trait about yourself makes you feel beautiful?

I love to encourage others and inspire them to live up to their highest potential. I believe this is my most beautiful inner trait and it’s how I best reflect the beauty of the Father to the world.

What outer feature about yourself do you love?

Well . . . there’s so many of them, it’s hard for me to choose! LOL. Totally kidding. At risk of sounding totally narcissistic, I really love my face. It’s the first thing I see when I look in the mirror and I smile at myself often. 🙂

What is one (inexpensive or free thing) you or other women can do to make themselves feel beautiful?

When I want to feel especially beautiful, I take a nice long shower or bubble bath, put on my best scented lotion and perfume and curl up in my king-size bed beside my . . . latest novel. I love reading! I’m a total nerd, but doing what I love makes me feel especially beautiful!

Women shouldn’t take their cues from the world and feel that beauty means getting dressed up and going out somewhere. When I’m cuddled up with one of my kids or praying with a friend, I am reminded that nurturing is beautiful.

Bringing children into this world with all the strength, focus, determination and sacrifice to our pre-stretch marked bodies is beautiful! Loving and expecting nothing in return is beautiful.

And going to bed every night feeling fulfilled because you used your gifts to make yet another dent in this world . . . now that is truly beautiful.
