Enjoy Holiday Eating Without Gaining Weight

Enjoying the holidays without gaining weight??? Say it ain’t so!! 🙂

Well, I’ve been to quite a few holiday parties so far, and I’m here to tell you that it’s possible.

How?? You may be thinking??

For me, since I started following the Paleo Diet, I’ve pretty much been able to eat what I wanted while still losing weight.

The basis is eating like our Paleo Ancestors – meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts, and all natural oils are allowed, while dairy and grains are not.

Recently at a friend’s baby shower, my friends asked about the Paleo diet, (or “lifestyle” as I prefer to call it,) and I told them the thing I loved about it is that I am not denying myself. On my plate that morning for breakfast was bacon, sausage, eggs, and plenty of fruit. Not on my plate – toast, grits, cereal with milk, etc…(You get the idea.)

And yes, I still do cheat one to two times a week, but that’s b/c I do Paleo 85:15, meaning you can have one or two cheats each week whether it’s Starbucks or a small plate of non-Paleo foods at a Christmas party.

You can totally enjoy yourself while still eating yummy foods, and the best part of the Paleo is that there’s no portion control – of course you don’t want to stuff yourself, but you really can eat these foods without worry of gaining weight. Some foods to avoid if you are trying to lose weight on the Paleo would be oils and avocado.

I’ve also been taking my Iaso Skinny Tea which I looove and that’s helped too – so far I’m down 13 pounds. I love my new Total Life Changes biz and it goes right in line with my beliefs on natural and organic living.

Zumba your way to flat abs

After having two babies, it felt like my stomach muscles had flown to Mars never to return!lol…

But I am happy to say that they are returning thanks to two things! 🙂

The first is Zumba, (which allows you to twist and turn your core,) so you are getting an awesome work out every time you do it, and the second is Visi’s Trimma.  It helps to up your metabolism and decrease appetite using all natural plant based nutrients.  I can actually feel my stomach muscles tightening at night on it. 🙂

So even if you’ve had two (almost) ten pound babies like me, all hope is not lost!lol…

The last thing that’s been helping me in my awesome journey is an oldie but goodie: a strawberry banana smoothies in the morning and at night as dessert – just throw in a banana, a few frozen strawberries, and some soy milk, and viola, you’ve got what tastes like  a Frosty from Wendy’s.  You’re welcome!!lol… 🙂

Blessings and remember that it’s ok to eat that extra hot dog or hamburger today…you can Zumba later!!

Is your diet killing you?

Confession: recently I went on vacation, and when I came back, I’d gained five pounds!  Eeeek!!

It made me want to get serious about my eating patterns.

Just this morning, a friend of mind invited me to go exercise with her because she found out she had high blood pressure and heart palpitations, and knew it was because of being overweight and eating badly.

We decided it’s time to make some big changes; here they are:

1. Stop eating fast food – bring food with us when we go out with the kids so we don’t end up at the Chick-fil-A drive through.

2. I do this one already but want to get even better – buy less processed bagged, boxed food, and cook for your own food – it’s healthier. Ex: make your own meatballs, chicken wings, etc.

3. Exercise more!  I know it’s hard, but we really have to step it up in this area!

4. Start writing down what you eat to avoid mindless snacking.

It’s not all about being skinny, swearing off eating out, or going on crazy diets.  We have to change the way we live!
